A custom desktop application for a retail store, handling billing, stock levels and daily sales reports from one screen.
One record, not three
The challenge
Billing was written by hand, stock was counted on a separate register, and the two only met at closing time — when somebody had to reconcile them before going home. Discrepancies were found days later, when nobody could remember the sale in question.
What we built
A single desktop application where making a bill moves the stock. Items are looked up by name or code, the bill prints, and the inventory position updates in the same action. Daily sales and low-stock reports come off the same records, so there is nothing to cross-check.
The evening reconciliation disappeared entirely — there is now only one set of numbers to trust.
